A quick overview of Oman

Oman has a very long coastline with many marvelous beaches.
Off the coast of Muscat there is the wonderful island group, it is great for snorkeling, diving and even camping. There is also Masirah Island: it is known as a "paradise for kitesurfers" as it is always windy, with cool breeze pouring in from the Arabian Sea. There are four different species of turtles whose habitat is on the Masirah beaches, including around 30,000 nesting female turtles!
The mountains are ideal for climbing and hiking. As there is in the wadi’s a great opportunity to follow the water streams and discover beautiful nature.
Oman has a centuries long history, it was a maritime power centuries ago. It is still felt today.
There are many mosques in the whole country. The archtecture and design are all different and just so beautiful. The different light during the day makes it, that they are never the same.
As Oman is a maritime nation, sailing is important. Regatta’s are organized regularly.
Food is very rich in flavor and nutritional value. Fresh fish is an important ingredient of the menu.
Oman has a whole different calender than we know in the Western world.
There is no real Christmas or New Year celebrations. In Oman Ramadan is the highlight of the year, its Eid celebrations. That is in March and April 2023.
